Job Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for aligning the efforts of departmental or cross-functional teams to support the company's strategic objectives. Coordinates project benefits and capabilities that the organization can utilize to sustain, enhance, and deliver portfolio objectives. Manages ongoing work through governance structures, creating high level plans that provide guidance to projects where detailed plans are established. Drives alignment and adherence to standards and direction set by the organization. Removes barriers that prevent efficient execution of projects.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years related experience. PMP Certification and/or 5 years experience managing IT projects. Sound knowledge of both IT software development and project management methodologies. Exceptional analytical, problem solving and decision making capabilities; excellent communication skills (verbal/written/presentation); excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others at all levels of the organization; excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-up. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, meet deadlines, ensure quality and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service oriented environment.
Program experience managing both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
Is a solid negotiator and facilitator, and has excellent written and oral communication skills; Proficient with Microsoft Office suite or equivalent. Proficient with a project scheduling software tool - MS Project preferred; Must be able to interface at appropriate management levels with moderate customer interface.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Product Life Cycle: Working knowledge of phases of the product life cycle, including engineering specifications, customer requirements gathering, software design and development, testing - including unit, functional, systems and integration implementation/delivery and maintenance. Systems Integration: Knowledge of how different systems interact, including potential problems and difficulties that may occur. Technical Knowledge : Maintains technical knowledge in assigned areas.
